Macdony
Bates College, ‘22
major: Economics
Career pathway: Finance
Mack entered The Upward Project with a general interest in pursuing finance, but without a clear plan for how to focus his efforts. He has spent his summers working in financial advising, investment management, and B2B sales at Fidelity Investments. As a senior economics major, he is now applying to post-college finance jobs with the benefit of three summers of relevant experience.
Simarn

Majors: Business Administration & International Studies
Career pathway: Business
Simarn has spent her first four years in The Upward Project honing her business skills. While pursuing a business administration major, she has interned with Upward Project corporate partners, including Klaviyo, in roles ranging from data analytics to marketing. As a senior, she is now applying to post-college jobs with a strong business resume.
Joseph
amherst college, ‘22
Major: computer science
Career pathway: software engineering
Joseph entered The Upward Project with the goal of becoming a software engineer. He enrolled in Amherst College as a computer science major and spent his summers building his programming skills. The summer after his freshman year, with The Upward Project’s financial support, he took coding courses. During his sophomore and junior summers, he excelled as a Software Engineer Intern at Maark, an Upward Project corporate partner. After graduation in the spring of 2022, he will begin working at Maark as a software engineer full time.
