Academic Pivot & Research Access
With TUP’s support, Jennifer successfully transitioned her focus from Computer Science to Chemistry. She graduated from Tufts University Summa Cum Laude with high honors on her senior thesis. TUP also provided housing assistance, enabling her to consistently pursue summer research opportunities, including ongoing work in the Tufts Chemistry Lab.
Graduate Pathway Support
TUP guided Jennifer through challenges in a difficult work environment and supported her Ph.D. applications, even writing letters of recommendation on her behalf.
Outstanding Outcomes
Jennifer was accepted to every Ph.D. program she applied to, many offering scholarships and placements at Ivy League institutions.
Future Aspirations
She chose to attend MIT for her Ph.D., where she plans to apply her skills to the biopharmaceutical industry and contribute to advancing scientific innovation. Jennifer joined the Swager Group in the fall of 2023 as a graduate student in the organic chemistry program. “I decided to pursue my PhD in chemistry to deepen my knowledge in a specific area and work on developing new materials aimed at improving human health and the environment,” said Jennifer.
